- CREATORS INFO
This elegant business card holder is crafted from Yusoku textiles, traditionally associated with the costumes and furnishings of the Japanese Imperial Court. It features ukiori, a weaving technique in which supplementary threads create delicately raised patterns on the surface of the fabric.
The soft texture of pure silk and the graceful, embroidery-like woven motifs give each piece an elegant and refined appearance. Ukiori has traditionally been used for luxurious garments such as the karaginu and uwagi, outer layers of the formal court attire known as jūnihitoe.
Yusoku patterns feature a variety of traditional motifs inspired by Japanese nature, plants, animals, and other forms, each with its own history and meaning.
Each business card holder comes with an explanation of its pattern, offering a glimpse into the rich tradition behind the design—and perhaps even a conversation starter when exchanging business cards.

If a thread becomes loose, do not pull it. Carefully trim the loose end with scissors. Please also keep the card holder away from water and moisture.
Sakaimachi Gomonmae Heishichi
We want to spread the beauty of traditional Japanese designs to the younger generation. We have adopted Heishichichi, the name that the head of Kuroda Costume Shop has inherited for two generations, as the brand name, and have sublimated the same fabric as the costumes into modern items.
While respecting the dignity of Yusoku textiles, which have been carefully preserved and passed down since the Heian period, we offer them in new forms that capture their elegant charm.
