紅村窯の西施白磁（せいしはくじ）と名付けられた白磁は、中国の古窯で作られた白高麗（白磁）から発展したなめらかな乳白色が特徴。
ロクロ成形が大変困難な独自の調合の土は、西施白磁制作技術を誇る洗練された形と、東洋美人の肌を連想する白玉の様な乳白色で、釉調と相まってまさしく中国の代表的な美女 西施の命名がふさわしい白磁。
西洋かぼちゃのような形の香炉。エレガントな佇まいなので、和室だけでなく、洋室にインテリアとして置いても良さそうです。
