A traditional Japanese smoking pipe, kiseru, embodies the refined aesthetic of “iki” — a uniquely Japanese sense of understated elegance.

The metal fittings are crafted in nickel and shaped into a distinctive hexagonal form.
Its clean, faceted structure creates a sharp and dignified impression.
When held, it offers a subtle weight and a calm, stable feel in the hand.

The bamboo stem is made using bekko-dake (tortoiseshell-pattern bamboo), created by carefully applying heat to form its distinctive pattern.
Named for its resemblance to tortoiseshell, this technique gives the bamboo a rich and refined character.

Smoking with a kiseru is less about volume and more about appreciating the delicate aroma of the smoke itself.
Traditionally, tobacco is lit using charcoal embers from a tabako-bon (tobacco tray), allowing the smoke to remain pure, without the added scent of an open flame.

Kizami tobacco “Koiki” is not available for purchase on our website. If you wish to obtain it, please purchase it from a tobacco specialty shop.
For customers overseas, finely cut loose-leaf tobacco such as shag tobacco may be used as a substitute.
