This work by Touto-gama, a kiln located in the mountains of Kyoto, captures the movements of cats in a single moment, making them look as if they could come to life at any moment.
This beckoning cat has a cat-like appearance, with an elegant expression and posture.
The beautiful, transparent eyes are expressed with glaze, and each piece is unique, with their expression only visible after firing.
A cat with its right paw raised is said to bring good fortune.
The body is decorated with patterns inspired by the decorations of shrines and temples and Nishijin textiles.
In Feng Shui, the upside-down fortune symbol on the chest is said to be a lucky charm, as it means "fortune will fall and fortune will accumulate."
