- CREATORS INFO
A ceramic cup finished with an ash glaze made by giving new life to locally available natural resources.
The glaze is made using ash collected from the wood-burning stove at Motogyusha, a café in Japan.
Oak trees growing at Kigyusha provide firewood for the stove. The ash left behind is then transformed into a glaze, bringing the cycle of nature into a beautifully crafted ceramic cup.
Oak trees → Firewood → Wood ash → Ash glaze → Ceramic cup
The color and texture of the glaze vary subtly depending on the characteristics of the ash, giving each piece its own unique expression.
Enjoy the natural variations that make every cup one of a kind.
