Kyokoma Kyoto Vegetable Set / no.0384

We have created a playful set of tops shaped like Kyoto vegetables (Kamo eggplant, Kujo leek, Shogoin turnip, Kintoki carrot, Shishigatani pumpkin). Not only are they fun to spin, but just looking at them is soothing.

"Kyoto spinning tops" are a traditional Kyoto craft made by wrapping kimono fabric or colorful cotton strings around a core. Each spinning top is made by hand by Kyo spinning top artisans, who wrap and layer the colorful cotton strings one by one.
