This work by Touto-gama, a kiln located in the mountains of Kyoto, captures a moment in the movement of cats, making them look as if they could come to life at any moment.

The Hotei Maneki-neko cat's plump figure gives it a bold, impudent appearance. And strong arms to ensure good fortune is brought to you. The left-handed beckoning cat has gentle night eyes.

The beautiful, transparent eyes are expressed with glaze, and each piece is unique, with their expression only visible after firing.

The body is decorated with patterns inspired by the decorations of shrines and temples and Nishijin textiles.
