Plump, ripe red persimmons appear to fill a box to the brim in this charming design, evoking the abundance and appetite of autumn in Japan.

Each piece is made entirely by hand through the traditional woodblock printing process: drawing the design, carving the woodblock, and printing it by hand with a baren. The subtle variations in color and texture give each book jacket the distinctive warmth of a handmade print.

The book jacket is made from smooth-surfaced washi paper selected for its vivid color reproduction and durability, making it well suited to woodblock printing.

As the pigments are carefully worked into the washi during printing, the color is resistant to rubbing. The paper also has a comfortable thickness and feels pleasant in the hand.
