Takagi Lacquer Work / Nozomi Takagi
Kyoto lacquerware has developed in Kyoto while supporting the culture of Kyoto cuisine and tea ceremony. Among those creators, Mr. Nozomu Takagi, a craftsman who applies lacquer and a lacquerer (nushi), is attracting attention in the industry. At the age of 38 , he is young in the world of craftsmen, but he specializes in making tea ceremony utensils, and he does the final coating by himself, which is the most difficult coating and there are few craftsmen who can do it.
