Spoon carved by a chashaku craftsman
Each one is made using the techniques for crafting chashaku (tea scoops).
Osaji (Large Spoon): Can be used in various ways as a cooking utensil, such as a spatula for scooping miso, gyoza filling, etc., or as a parfait spoon or a swizzle stick.
Kosaji (Small Spoon): In addition to its use as a spatula for scooping jam or butter and spreading it on bread, or scraping the bottom of containers, it can also be used as a spoon or toothpick to cut soft sweets such as wagashi or baked goods and bring them directly to your mouth.
