An incense holder made from chicken egg shells with maki-e lacquer decoration.

The motif is the Noh song "Chikubushima"

"The shadows of the green trees sink, and fish seem to be climbing the trees. The moon floats on the sea, and even rabbits seem to be running on the waves. What an interesting island scene."

The shadows of the island's lush trees are reflected on the lake, making it look like fish are climbing the trees.
The moon is reflected on the lake surface, and the rabbit that lives on the moon seems to be running through the moonlight reflected on the waves. What a mysterious island view.

Because rabbits give birth to many babies at once, in Japan they are associated with prosperity, vitality, good fortune, leaps forward, and matchmaking, and so rabbit motifs are considered auspicious and are popular.

In addition to using it as an incense holder, you can also store your precious jewelry in it, and enjoy admiring its new appearance as a tool for many years to come.
