Guardian deity of warding off evil

The tiled “Shoki-san” is placed on the roof of a Kyomachiya.

Legend has it that in the Tang Dynasty, Zhong Kui, a priest of Zhongnan Mountain, appeared in Emperor Xuanzong's dream and exorcised evil spirits and cured his illness.
At the end of the year in China, there are places where the image is still used as a talisman to ward off evil spirits. I have been exorcised.

The Asada Kawara Factory is one of the few studios that still does all of these processes by hand, from making the clay that Shoki uses, making the base, molding, polishing, and firing.

The name of Reprinted Shoki comes from the fact that Shoki, which was manufactured by the first generation, was revived by Mr. Akihisa Asada, the third generation, by making it from a plaster mold. This Shoki is an original design by Asada Kawara Factory, and has a unique texture like oxidized silver and a dignified beauty.
