Collection: Karakami (paper for sliding doors)
Crafted paper introduced from the Tang Dynasty was called karakami, but later fusuma paper came to be called "karakami."
The raw material paper is handmade Echizen washi or Kurotani washi. The woodblocks are deeply carved because they do not use baren. Since it is rubbed with the palm of your hand, it has a soft taste.
In Kyoto, "karakami" made from ancient woodblock prints was needed for temples and imperial palaces, and traditional techniques have been passed down in the papermaking process and woodblock carving process.
