東海道五十三次の終着点として描かれた三条大橋には今と昔が渾然一体となっている。欄干の擬宝珠には池田屋事件の際についたという刀傷、橋の西側には『東海道中膝栗毛』に出てくる野次喜多像、現代では若者が集う絶好の場であり、今も昔も京都の時代を眺めてきた三条大橋の悠然たる姿が描かれている。
