Book Cover Daruma /no.1730
by 竹笹堂
¥1,045A woodblock print book cover hand-printed one by one by a craftsman.
The woodblock printing process of drawing, carving, and printing with a baren is all done by hand, so you can feel a nostalgic warmth in the colors and textures.
The paint is firmly rubbed into Japanese paper, so the color does not fade even when touched, and the book cover has a moderate thickness and is comfortable to hold.
Uses Japanese paper suitable for woodblock printing, with a smooth surface, good coloring and durability.
Woodblock printing is a traditional printmaking technique in which an engraver uses woodblocks carved from boards of cherry blossoms, katsura, etc., and a printer hand-prints each color onto the woodblock. It is also the oldest printing method in Japan.
Woodblock print "Dharma" / Yuko Harada Lots of Daruma! is the design. A cologne over there, a cologne over here, and lots of wishes in a lovely lucky charm.
It looks great with a bookmark of the same pattern.
