Named 'Maiko Rin' in honor of Kyoto, this adorable-sized rin (bell)
continues the exceptional techniques and materials dating back to the 14th
year of the Tenpo era. Crafted by Futakata-ya, which has preserved its
tradition till today, the 'Maiko Rin' is made of a metal called Sahari.
Sahari is an alloy of tin and copper, with a very high proportion of tin,
making it hard and requiring advanced skills in its crafting process. Its
sound is characterized by an astonishingly clear tone and a unique lingering
resonance that creates new sounds as it changes. The sound of Sahari is
known to 'rise' over time, especially after 5 to 10 years of use.
The sound of the 'rin' in silence brings tranquility to the heart. The name
'Maiko Rin' also implies 'MY CORIN' (a small rin for oneself), meant for
moments of meditation or to calm the heart at the end of a day.

Clean with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use polishing powder or cream. Finished
with wax to prevent discoloration. Wiping with a white cloth may leave a
blue-black color, which is not a problem. Please let it blend in.
| Handling Precautions |
As it is a delicate metal, dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts
can cause it to break, and it cannot be repaired. Gently striking the edge
part will produce a good resonance.
