Notice of "Gather! Fushimi Dolls"

From July 26, 2022 (Tuesday), the exhibition "Atsumare Fushimi Dolls" will be held at the MOCAD Gallery.

Dolls with a sense of familiarity, with their humorous charm and common people's simplicity.

The Fushimi doll's dog, the Japanese Chin, is also the model for our shop's logo mark.

Fushimi dolls are clay dolls that were made near the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto from the end of the Momoyama period to the beginning of the Edo period.
It is said that among the more than 90 types of clay dolls in Japan, there is no one that does not follow the lineage of Fushimi dolls.

It is said that there used to be about 60 potteries along the Fushimi Kaido, which reached its peak in the late Edo period.

Ahead of the " Atsumare! Fushimi Dolls" scheduled to be held at the MOCAD Gallery, some of Tanka's products will be on sale at the MOCAD ONLINE SHOP from Tuesday, July 19th.
