Gensei style Fukakusa fan / no.1224

Around the Kanbun era (1660), Gensei-style Fukakusa fan was invented by Genmasa, who had a hermitage at Zuiko-ji Temple, and began to make it in a Natsume shape.
It is said that Gensei Shonin wrote a poem on this fan, and it became a popular souvenir from Kyoto.
While there is nothing left in perfect form, a person living in Tokyo who came to visit Zuikoji has protected it as a family heirloom for generations, leading to its restoration.
